4 years ago I refinished the roof radius' on my 2011 Winnebago Via but the roof over the cab was in bad shape from the sun and I've been wanting to refinish it as well. It was also dark brown and after my first trip of the season to the Albuquerque area I was reminded how much hotter that part of the camper is when parked in the sun, even the 3 cabinets up there are like ovens, so I made up my mind to paint it white.

3 days and $500 later it's white. I had the base coat color matched to the existing white sections, after sanding and filling in a few imperfections I applied 2 coats of sealer, 3 coats of color and 3 coats of catalyzed clear. It was not easy doing the very back part as I had to crawl up on the roof and squirm my way under my ceiling mounted lumber rack and do everything for that section laying on my side. Doing this outside was not an option in 105F heat. (My shop is swamp cooled and was between 74 and 78 the whole time which is perfect for painting).

I really wish I had painted the roof radius' white when I did them as well instead of the OEM brown, but they are only about 6" wide so probably not so much solar gain there. Plus they do blend in nicely with the awning and slide toppers.

My main concern is solar gain while camping, I'm not worried about sun deterioration as I store it indoors.

Wrapping the entire motorhome was also a big time consumer.

Looks professional 👍
And a big saving to having a repair shop do it I'd imagine.

A great job that will serve you well. We'd been getting clear coat blistering on the front cap and had a shop extend the FlexArmor from the original area behind the cap to include the front and rear caps. Never going to have to worry about them again.

Now, if I only had time and capability to touch up the multiple colors (dumb) swirly patterns on the rest of the MH... Certainly don't want to spend $15K (or more) to get a complete paint job - and may go for a vinyl wrap to last the next five years (I'll be 80 then).

Now I'm trying to decide if I want to do anything about bugs, that area catches a lot of bugs.

Great paint Job on the cab. One of the things we did right was select a white (for the most part) RV and it is a lot easier to keep cool in the desert settings when there. Painting is a great option!

They're all rite, that's a great job. Now you just need the flames. You can do a lite shadowy metallic. That way you only see them at certain angles. Then the bugs will be afraid to crash.
😂, but really nice job.
