Once out of the construction area in Midland, I-20 is everything you expect a well-maintained Interstate highway to be. Smooth all the way, except for a couple of overpasses with broken concrete potholes that exposed some of the rebar.

Once in the metro area, the freeways were again in very good condition.

Overall, a very nice 6-hour drive today (not counting the 30-minute torrential downpour west of Ft. Worth that slowed all of us to about 35mph at times.

Everything is great on Texas interstates until someone has a flat, hits an animal or God forbid there's a wreck. That's when the crane-necking commences. Traffic on I-20 and I-30 can back up for days.
