We recently purchased a toy hauler with electric bunk beds.  The only problem is we cannot find a ladder to reach the top bunk.  We need a ladder that is normal size at the top but tapers down to no more than 8 inches at the bottom.  That is the only clearance we have in the walkway.  We understand at one time these narrow bottom ladders were available.  Without this the top bunk is useless for nothing other than storage.

No, an ice chest is too low.  Top bunk is at least 5 foot high.  Ice chest is too wide to fit on floor with 8" clearance

I was walking around a thrift store last week and saw a nice wooden ladder for a top bunk. I figured that, with a little work, it could have been modifid to have a "narrow bottom". The price was such that, if you screwed it up in the process of modifying it, you'd only be out of pocket a few $.

In case you happen to be in that neck of the woods, I was in Grove City, OH. If not, this might give you an idea of where to look.
