I'm in Live Oak 32060. There's a large Busy Bee truck stop at the exit if you need gas and a pretty good place for sandwiches and BBQ (Big Wood) just south of the exit.

There's also a pretty huge Wally's parking lot if you decide to do a free overnight stop here.

The Suwannee River State Park is only about 10 miles east of that exit as well.

The tractor supply lot is pretty small and it is always crowded until the place closes. Never seen an RV in there.

OTOH there is almost always at least one RV in the Wally's lot, sometimes a semi or two as well. Take a look at googles sat mode. The parking lot is pretty huge and there is always space away from the Wally's entrance no matter how busy Wally's is.

RVers tend to park in the southwest corner near the Murphy's.

ETA --> I would also add that the Suwannee River State Park is 14 miles away and definitely has a few nice hikes in it with picturesque views of the river. The State Park also has RV spots but I am guessing availability would suck right now.

Nope just my favorite shopping when you live in the back forty. Nearest big towns for me 80 miles south and 65 north, "town" is 1400 or so.

Yeah, TS kinda takes the place of HFT in some areas. But in Reno (actually in Sparks, I think), they are next door to each other.

I guess I'm an outlier because I like it. Then again, I managed to avoid the poofy hair craze in the 1980s; I can understand never wanting to look at those photos again.

This is a very large park. The type one can get lost in. I have nobody near me and there are more spaces available.

Yeah, many more, but don't waste your time calling. They will say they have none available, yet they do.

I called this place twice and also emailed them. No spaces, they tell me three different times.

Tom SeilerBird, who has been here for ten years, askes in the office, and they have many spaces available.

Many, with electricity and water but no sewer connection I don't even care about that. My tanks are big enough besides they have a dump station here that I can use.

So either the employees are too lazy to bother with those not renting by the month, or they just don't want more money. Or what else could it be? Seems strange for a business to not want easy money.

And nobody who stays monthly would want a space with no sewer connection.

So what type of BS is going on here?

For RV trips, it is perfect. All the luggage is removeable. It has the smaller battery so extra storage room in those areas. With the help of a small backpack, I can take a full cart of groceries back to the RV (as long as I leave the boxes somethings come in, or separate the items, such as with bottled water).

It gets close to 100 miles of range with a full RV Park charge in city type traffic. Less than half that on the freeways. 100 miles will normally last me about a week of riding it every day in most places. Everglades was a bit different, longer rides to towns and such but I was able to charge at 6.3 KW at the visitor center charge station. At 6.3 KW, I am normally back to a full charge in 30 minutes on it. I just walk around the visitor center until it's fully charged. I can also charge by the genny or at RV parks that have juice. No electricity at the RV parks in the Everglades, can only boondock at Long Pine Key.

Many years and countless thousands of miles. My Zero DS probably weights around 325 lbs because of the stuff added to the 317lb bike, such as the brackets for the bags and such.

I did have one small issue, a bracket to the vertical bar broke. That happened on a very rough unpaved road, if it were even a road. It was more off road there. It was when I was leaving Lone Rock Beach, UT. Lucky I decided to check it before getting to pavement. I was able to mickey-mouse a temporary repair until I got the necessary hardware to fix it better than ever.

I was able to make it stronger than ever with a trip to Home Depot. And I now carry extra bolts and hardware just in case I have another issue.

Expect me to be in the area sometime next week. It will be after I spend a few days in Georgia, not far from Live Oak, at the Tifton KOA.

I am not sure where I will say yet in the Live Oak area, but I will figure that out before I leave Georgia and will then let you know. It will probably be somewhere I can stay a few days, which should make things easier. See you next week.

I am in no hurry to get back home. I cannot even guess when that will be.

IMO, this is the best way to winterize an RV! Just stay south!

I will definitely try to clear my decks.

I would definitely advise you to stay northwest of the Live Oak area as there is a lot to do in terms of trails and nature. Suwannee State Park is a great choice if you can get it. Another less known one would be Gibson County Park.

However if you get stuck on a place let me know and I may be able to put in a word at the place I was resident at in May (Hidden Oaks RV Park) - Mayo is a 20 mile plus / 30 minute plus range south from any of the cooler stuff around here which includes the Suwannee State Park.

I visit Hidden Oaks a couple times a week to stay in touch with people and it looks all but full right now but I know the owner pretty well.
