Can anyone who has a scan guage II tell me if I can get a trans temp. reading on a 2006 sightseer.
Thanks Mike

Mike, what chassis do you have?

If it's a Workhorse with GM 8.1L and an Allison transmission, then the answer is yes.  Other wise I'm not sure and someone else will have to get you an answer.

Good luck,
Bill

we need to know more about your rv. you can add this info in your signature block.
scan gauge tranny temp works on 5 sp allisons, 6 speed maybe not. i don't know about other trannys.

ScanGauge II is for gas engines and it can be programmed to read transmission temperature.  For diesels, you use a ScanGaugeD.

The Scan-gauge does not come programmed for the trans temps on the Ford.  But if I remember right if you order from Scan-gauge they will program it for you if you wish.  It is very easy to add the additional program yourself.

You can program the ScanGauge II yourself.  I've added transmission temperature to ours.  You do need the latest firmware in the ScanGauge, but that's been available for several years now, and if you have an older model, you can send it in for reprogramming.

The last time I saw anything on it, the transmission temp could not be read on the Allison 6 speed but could be on the 5 speed. Did they finally get the code right for the 6 speed?

I have a sightseer 26P on W16 or 18 chassis 8.9L gas with a hydra matic trans.  I just need to know if the trans temp is avialiable a the scan port.  I have lots of options to read things on the LCD screen but Trans temp is not one of them. I was hoping that with a scan gauge I would be able to read this.
Thanks Mike

Mike, Looks like you might be in luck, here is a link to scan guage; http://www.scangauge.com/support/x-gauge/gm-specific/

They show a codes for Allison transmissions and another one for non-Allison trans. seems that might be a hopeful sign.

To the others on this thread; THANKS! I had been disappointed that my scan guage did not display trans temp. After seeing this thread and the SG website I programmed mine and it works!!

To everyone else thanks for all the responses.
