Schwintec Slide issues.

Our slide out is stuck out and the schwintec rails are getting chewed and the control panel for the manual quit lighting when I pushed the button for the override. Have mobile rv guy hopefully coming tomorrow to get it in. This is ridiculous. This is on a 2021 Grand Design RD260 out of warranty 7/2021

I had a similar issue and was able to clean my up and get it running again. A piece of the shoe broke and I was able to get it out. I cleaned up the teeth with a file and careful screw driver scraping. I lubed and cleaned the tracks. The last step was short in/out presses of the button to get it synched.

I have a chair that is strapped down and it will shift and sometimes a blanket will fall. The slide has gotten jammed. We are far more careful now but when you are tired it is easy to overlook things.

Hopefully you will have good luck getting it fixed at a minimal cost.

There is a company called Vroom out of Tucson that has a much more robust system that can replace Schwintec products. Tiffin has started replacing problematic Schwintec systems with Vroom in their service center if there have been multiple returns for service on a specific rig. We were going to get our current large electric slide replaced with Vroom just for peace of mind, but it ended up failing completely on too short notice to get on the Vroom schedule. You might want to check them out. Not cheap, but they come highly recommended.
