I just received my old (2014) cheap ($12) tablet I ordered on E Bay. It is an Ellipsis 7. It did not come with a SIM card. While it connects to my home internet, it does not allow me to update anything or download any apps.
I contacted our cellular provider, Consumer Cellular and they are sending a SIM card and adding this tablet to our account for $15 / month. With this dome, I assume I can download Torque Pro OBD 2 app and set up my gauge display.
Once this is done and I am happy, is there any need to continue paying the monthly fee? Is a valid SIM card and account required for the app to work? Any words of advise setting up my gauges?
I am really looking forward to having a usable fuel gauge again!
