Shade Tree Showing New Posts and Ignored Thread Incorrectly

For a while now, the Shade Tree has been showing that there is a new post to me even when there is NOT a new post, as well as when there is, EXCEPT that once in a while it doesn't show a new post but shows "ignored thread" where it usually shows the latest post info. But I cannot click on that little area (it's grayed out) to see what's there, so when I go into that section it doesn't show a new post, nor does it give any indication of an ignored thread, such that I can't even find out what, if any, ignored thread it refers to.

Has anyone else encountered this? Does anyone have any thoughts on resolving this?

This is the "ignored" version, but I'll have to wait until the other way happens to get a shot of it:

I'll log in with a non-admin account and try to replicate what you're seeing. Might take me a day or two. Meanwhile, I replied to one of your posts under The Shade Tree. Let me know if the issue repeats with my reply there.

Larry, I may be having a senior moment (aka a brain farte) ... could you explain what you were expecting to see in the second pic that isn't there.

There should have been some new post there, Tom, but they'd all been read by me. The in shot #2 the Shade Tree forum showed the "bus" on the left highlighted and it showed "NEW" on that line too, yet there was no new post as shown in shot #3. That Fond musical farewell should have been highlighted (since it was the top one) IF it had a new post there, but it wasn't highlighted and did not have a new post.

Addendum: On this forum visit I got to this section first and made this post, then later got down to the Shade Tree and it shows like shot #1, no highlighting or NEW, but instead shows "ignored thread" grayed out, yet when I click into that section the top post is in bold, showing a new post, one that you mad last night at 7:15 PM my time (MST).

I'll not read that thread for a while, perhaps preserving whatever condition obtains.
