A member with a 2007 Tiffin Allegro Bus 40QDP reported losing all coach power about five minutes after plugging into shore power at home. A mobile tech replaced the coach surge suppressor, but the same problem continued, with no visible tripped breakers.

Members noted that the generator powers the roof A/Cs normally, which points the issue toward the shore-power side rather than the coach loads. Suggestions included checking the transfer switch/ATS, looking for surge or powerline monitor...

2007 Tiffin Allegro Bus 40QDP...

Most long timers know I show dachshunds as a hobby. Went to a dog show in Doswell, Virginia. Got home and plugged up as usual. About 5 minutes later, there was no power inside the coach. Had a so called mobile tech come to the house and replaced the coach's surge suppressor per his diagnosis. Guess what? That wasn't it and it is doing the same thing again.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this? I don't see any breakers tripped.

Plug in a voltage monitor or ask the surge guard for the last error code (most of them give you either a code or text) We have heavy power use due to weather nation wide just now and some times the power compnies dial the voltage down a volt or 10 (or more) Called a "Brown out"

Not to stray off topic too much but do you enter your Dachshunds in the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals?

No. We only compete in conformation shows. I will attach a few photos. "Buddy" is currently on the cover of the National Miniature Dachshund Digest.

Not at all. Everything works fine only when running the generator. Shore power lasts 4-5 minutes then a click and shuts off.
When that happened again, try cycling your transfer switch and see if everything works

If you wait for a time and do nothing, does it start and run again for a few minutes? If so it isn't likely to be a circuit breaker, but it could be burned contacts somewhere.

Sounds to me like powerline monitor is detecting a problem with shore power and shutting down. Maybe low voltage or loss of ground. I'm pretty sure a 2007 Allegro Bus would be equipped that way. The alternative is a failed ATS (transfer switch) and that click is the shore relay opening.
