Hi! We are THINKING of purchasing a camper for our family - we have two kids, 11 and 8. One of the ones we were looking at said it sleeps 8. But none of the sites I've been to to book a campsite will hold a group of that size. Is that common? We were thinking of taking our girls and some of their friends for a birthday weekend should we do this.

Any tips?

Seems like sleeping 8 would be more space anyway for if my parents come.

I appreciate any tips! We're still working out whether this would be good for our family!!

2 Adults, 6 kids, NO-One will complain.  8 adults, two large tents, loud late laughter, then there is a problem.  If you are highly concerned, make an anonymous call to the campground check-in desk.

Birthday weekend???  Fun idea as long as it's not extremely hot outside, then it can become challenging with kids.

If you camp in state parks many times they will overlook the number of kids you have at a site as long as they aren?t being a nuisance and someone complains. At other campgrounds you can often pay an additional person fee for those over their site occupancy limit. Believe it or not there are people out there fulltiming with 6 kids in their family and they find plenty of places to stay. Have fun!
