Sleeper sofas wearing out

Hi! New to the forum. My 2017 Montana fifth wheel has a front living room with sleeper sofas and opposing slides. I keep it parked at a campground in the south so it gets very hot. The fabric on the sofas is peeling away which I understand is very common. The slide out floors are raised a couple or 3 inches from the main floor. I would like to replace these sofas, but I am having a hard time finding replacements that would fit because of the raised floor. Has anyone experienced this and how did you resolve it! Note: I did ask at camping world one time and they really couldn’t tell me anything. Any and all help will be appreciated.

In general i would try to find residential furniture as you will usually get better quality. What about the raised floor is keeping it from fitting?

Maybe find something residential with removable legs, just make sure it will fit through the door. We get to begin our sofa shopping next week our Lippert sofa bed is also starting to peel.
We replaced the Lippert recliners in 2021 when they started to peel with RecPro recliners and they have held up well.

The depth of the slide is narrower than the sofas. So any sofa placed there will hang over 4-5 inches.

i would attach a piece of wood to the front legs to make up the difference. Not hard to cut something to the right size and stain it to match. In most cases you probably wouldnt even see it.

We just bought a custom lazy boy sofa sleeper for our house that cost less than the hall & brad sofa in the rv

Unfortunately anything else in the RV which is covered with the same garbage isn't long for the world either. The problem buying another from the same mfg'er is it will likely come with the same junk covering. If you can get it out reupholstering might be a better long term solution.

If the upholstery is vinyl, the years 2016-2020 or so had very poor vinyl used in many motorhomes. The newer things are made with a different “fabric” and are longer lasting. Buying from the original manufacturer won’t necessarily result in the same effect. But if the original items are from Flexsteel, contact Bauer RV Upholster in Dubuque, IA. She owns all the original patterns for Flexsteel RV products after they left the business. She provides reupholstery services for the products. You can have her put them on, or she can mail you the covers and you find someone locally (or do it yourself).
