I recently noticed an area on my main slide topper that looks very worn (see attached photo - top right).  I don't know if it leaks.  I assume a leaky topper could result in water coming into the inside - which is not happening with us.

I haven't gotten up on a ladder to inspect the rest of the topper.

Is this type of wear a concern?

Thanks.

You can get some clear tape (made for toppers) or get some clear Gorilla Tape to cover those spots, for now.  I don't think the slide should leak unless your rig is tipped in such a way as to allow water to run to the upper seal and that leaks.

When it rains, you can actually get quite a bit of water on top of the slide - even with a slide topper. Keeping rain off the slide isn't their purpose. The purpose of slide toppers is to keep leaves, branches and other material from getting between the slide and the slide seal when the slide is retracted. Those things can damage the seal over time, which can cause it to lose its squeegie affect with water. As long as your topper has adequate tension, isn't torn and retracts properly, I wouldn't worry about it.

What Kevin said. However, replacing the fabric with new is a straight-forward job that needs only basic hand tools and a step ladder. A buddy is a big help, though.
