Just when I thought I knew everything.
BTW I've never seen this covered here but I miss things.
I was going through some of the extra items that came with my used RV. It's only been 9 years so no since in getting in any hurry. I came across a slide lock that has threads to adjust this item on I believe the inside of the slide to keep it from any motion when in travel. We have always traveled without it being engaged. I do keep an eye out to make sure the slide is firm against the wall of the RV. I have tightened it up on a few occasions.
I've had a bit of water come in probably from lack of seal. The idea is to keep the slide from moving but since this is a manual lock, If you forget to pull the lock from the slide a lot of damage could happen to the slide and your RV Wall. So since we haven't had much of any trouble by not engaging the lock, and having it on requires it's removal each and every time you open the slice (a note on the slice button) I feel it is better to leave it off.
Do others use these manual locks? What has been your experience?
