I recall Workhorse claiming the most power engine in a motor home

I don't think so.. The attached photo shows what is clearly a motor home
And it has just a bit more power than the Chevy 8.1... Just a couple of horsepower more

So, why is this in "Shade Tree"  Check out the attached photo

I can afford the gas, but finding a park with adequate hookups is proving to be a real pain in the ...!

Gary  I totally agree with you.  I tell everyone that asks about gas mileage on these units.  It's a dang truck and forget mileage  If you have to ask  chances are you can't afford one in the 1st place.    It's a sharpe and blunt at the same time but as true as the day is long.  Not snotty just don't pull punches as Tom has commented on a coule of my statements.  But Facts are facts.

Of Course  Mileage is alittle better than the pic demonstrated by John of Detroit.  LOL

On the other hand, the mpg is probably pretty good after the first few hundred miles.
