Splendide shaking the house(RV), does any one know how to stop this.
I've got stabilizers front and back and king pin try pod.
It seems to making my floor in bedroom loose, squeaky. I do have 2000 Splendie tied down.
Would roto chocks help and big foot won't happen unless your buying it 4 me 4 Christmas.

I don't know if it's possible Don.  Considering the high center of gravity and the fact that your home is on springs would make it difficult.  We also have the Splendide, and when it spins we get some shaking.  And my rig is a 28,000 pound diesel pusher on hydraulic jacks.

And I was in a buddy's 45' pusher, and his was shaking when the dryer was spinning.  I think it's the nature of the beast.

Our first one (installed during manufacturing at Monaco) was stable and didn't shake.  It had to be replaced and this second one shakes, especially if it's on the heavier duty spin cycle.  The Splendide rep at a rally said it's not perfectly balanced if it shakes but the fit in ours is so tight we can't maneuver it to try to get it more level.  We put up with it....

I can see what you mean, being it's a fiver and w/d up stairs, that
don't help.
Do you all think a newer one would be better?
I'M afraid it might hurt rv. The carpet has become loose in bedroom area.

Thanks for your replys, your a great bunch of people.

We put a bicycle inter tube on each side of the washer, and inflated them. They work great. Keeps the washer secure when go'n down the road. And helps a lot with the shaking during the washers spin cycle.

Barb - What a clever idea!  We'll look to see if we have enough clearance to try it.

The newer 2100XC is a bit better than the 2000 & 200S, but fundamentally it is still going to shake if the load is a bit off-balance. The machine can only contain so much shaking before transmitting it to the coach.  You do need to make sure the machine is level with respect to the coach (there are adjustable feet, just like any washer), and then get the rig level when you park. And even then it will shake if the load is off-center in the drum. Things like jeans, that are very heavy when wet, can easily overtax the machine's  springs and counterweight.

The Spendide doesn't shake any more than a home washer, but your home washer is normally sitting on a solid surface anchored to the ground, rather than floating on springs and tires.

ArdraF,

We like you had no issues with the factory install of the washer. But when it was transferred our current coach, it started to shake. But there was really no way to secure. We made sure it was level, and that helped a little. But still shak'n. So a friend suggested the bike tubes, and they have been working great since.

We had a Splendide combo in the old coach, and have residential Whirlpool washer and separate dryer in the new.

I think they all shake.

Considering all the different axis possibilities in a rubber tired box on air bags sitting on hydraulic jacks, I am neither shocked nor alarmed.

If you have access to the rear of the machine there are two screws in to top of each corner.  Take them out and go around to the front and push on the top and take it off.  You will see a large cement counter weight.  It is held in place by two (I think they are 8 or 10 mm bolts).  They have a tendency to back out and cause out of balance problems.  There should also be two or three springs visible.  Make sure all are attached and the bolts tight.  If you remove the rear panel you will see the "shock absorbers".  Observe as you do a load and see if they are doing the job.

I know in all washers dryers or combos they will shake, but this did seem bad to me.

So I come with a heavy heart to let every one know the Splendide 2000 combo I had, died today.
DW was doing load and then it made a sign like some one dumped a box of nuts and
bolts into it. Have not found a reason for this. Will do autopsy soon to see what the heck killed it.
Viewing will be Tuesday 12/11/12 between 2pm and 5pm

Sorry to hear of the demise of a loved (or hated) one.  But on the up side, The new ones are quieter, smoother, and have a bigger load capacity.  Sometimes change is a good thing!
