State Parks Near Niagara Falls With Full Hookups

Anyone know of any state parks close to Niagara Falls that have full hookups?

Golden Hills State Park is about 45 miles north east from the falls in Barker, NY. A small but very nice campground. There are a couple of others in between.

It appears that Four Mile Creek SP on the shore of Lake Ontario about 20 minutes north of the falls has campsites with power. There is a dump station, showers, water fill sites. Website is vague but no mention of full hookups. Shuttle bus to the falls.

Golden Hill SP is further east on the shore of the lake, and Has sites with: Accessible, Electric Hookup(50), Water Hookup, No mention of sewer at sites.

There are several other SP in the area but no campgrounds.

Neither Four Mile Creek nor Golden Hill have any full hookup sites. I could be wrong, but I believe the closest NY State park to Niagara Falls with some full hookup sites is Wellesley Island SP, about 250 driving miles from the falls.

There are some very nice full hookup private parks in the Niagara Falls area on both sides of the border. The OP specifically asked about state parks though.

How long does the OP intend to stay in the Niagara Falls area? Four Mile Creek State Park is a very well regarded NY state park. Close to The Falls, the great town of Lewiston has shops, bars, supermarkets, restaurants, and Fort Niagara State Park. However, like most of NY's SPs, they have mostly 30A electric, a few 50A, and no water or sewer at the sites. But the sites are large with room to stretch out.

Being a NY State resident, I believe our SPs are out of date, only offering electric hook-ups. And, given the state's economic outlook, I don't see the state spending money to upgrade to the 21st Century any time soon.

If the OP wants to stay on the Canadian side, they will need passports or enhanced driver's licenses to get over the border without trouble. And, be prepared to pay high prices for fuel, food, entertainment, parking, and more in Canada. Even with the exchange rate around 30%, it is still expensive to travel in Canada.

The NY State parks operated by the Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation dept. are slowly improving as money permits. As I mentioned earlier, Wellseley Island SP has one loop that has full hookups, and Green Lakes SP also has a fairly new full hookup loop. I think there's a few others, but they don't come readily to mind. The DEC operated parks are even worse off, with most not even offering electric on the sites.

Southwick Beach State Park is another one with full hook-ups. Put in about 5 years ago, I think. Huge sites. Nice park on the east coast of Lake Ontario with great sunsets!

I've made two trips to the Falls. First was in 1978 and brand new wife and I (Treaditional honeymoon) spent the week in a Tent in the Grand Island KOA when we were not touring (oh one rainy week it was but amazingly only when we were in the water proofed tent)

The other time was a Membership campground on the exchange program some years later.

OH if you visit the falls... Niagara Canada (Well now these days.....) The Chamber of Commerce I think has a "Honeymoon" coupon package.. half off or other discounts at multiple attractions.

First Honeymoon or 2nd or 3rd or nth. don't matter.

No politics, the President just does not have the authority to unilaterally change the name of an internationally shared waterway. He can direct federal agencies to use any name he chooses, but no one outside of that realm is required to use it. I have no idea why he thinks changing the name of a lake that was named in the 1600's somehow harms or insults Canada when neither they or us even existed back then. "Ontario" is the English version of the Iroquois word for "lake of shining waters".
