Hi everyone.
Haven't been here in quite some time.
Have a problem with our fridge.
Our motorhome was in the shop for 4 months with a carton of milk left in the fridge......use your imagination!!
I CANNOT get the smell out :p.....I have tried vinegar and soda boxes.? ?Any suggestions?? It makes the whole motorhome smell when the door is opened.
Any advice would be welcomed.
Thanks

Have never tried it, but somewhere I remember reading about putting a small bowl of amonia out to absorb the 'stubborn' odors.

Take out all the shelves and bins.  Wash them first in soap and water and then in a baking soda solultion.  Alllow to dry in the sun.
Scrub out the inner surfaces of the fridge with a baking soda solution.  When you recool the fridge, place the open box of soda in the fridge and leave it there.

Thanks Carl.  I didn't wash the surface with soda but I'll try that.
As far as the sun is concerned....I'm in SF and I already missed the two real sunny days we SOMETIMES have in October!!!
I'll have to get creative!

To remove fridge odors, I put a small shallow dish in the fridge and freezer sections with about a 1/8 cup of vanilla extract in each.  If you fold half of a paper towel and put it into the dishes then the vanilla won't spill if it gets knocked over.

Try cleansing thoroughly.  Some other methods to try to deoderize the refer is a bowl of coffee grounds.  (Movers told us to do this when moving refrigerators long distance).  Another, when stationary, try several brigettes of charcoal.  Either should work.  We once got a refrigeration free, because someone left meat in the freezer while away and it lost power.  Guess you can imagine the odor.  It was quite a job, but removing all the insulation and trying the charcoal method worked for us.  And we had an almost new refrig for our labor.
