Stopping a Growing Crack in Camper Sidewall

I have a pretty good "scratch" on the side of the camper.
It's gotten longer over the past few years. Any thoughts on what I should do to stop it from growing.
The pic is the original scratch, it's about an1/4" longer on each end.

I can’t see anything looking at that picture. What people do is drill a small hole maybe 1/8” diameter at each end.
You’re telling us that that it has gotten bigger then when you 1st got it. If it keeps getting bigger, that’s telling me it may go all the way through

Nope- the reflections hide everything. I'd not have known it was anything in particular without the comment that it was a scratch. In fact I can only surmise that the scratch is just above the ruler.

However, Rene is right about stop-drilling each end of the crack (can't be just a scratch if it's growing). The round hole relieves the worst of the stress that allows it to grow.

How deep should the hole be? See if this pick helps. It did go through the skin (?) of the body

The stop-drill hole should go all the way through the crack -- for instance in a piece of glass it would go all the way through -- but not into separate surfaces behind the skin/glass.
