This cat showed up today, he/she seemed to like hanging around our cats when they were out in their catio. He/she has been here for an hour or so. If anyone knows anyone who is missing this handsome kitty, they can contact us here on the forum. We’re at Hunting Island state park South Carolina.
We did talk to the park office, they really didn’t seem to,care. I was shocked. That’s why we posted here we felt we needed to do something. I’ll try to find a facebook page, I don’t really understand facebook. Thanks!
Unfortunately our local campground hosts say a lot of people dump their animals at RV parks hoping someone will adopt them or at least throw them scraps. But there are times when people actually do take them home.

You're to be commended for caring and making the effort.
Last couple of campgrounds we were at I was testing some outdoor cameras I intend to use at home. Set them up at night and at each park recorded different cats coming by the coach in the middle of the night. Wife insisted on putting out some food for them but from what I could see they looked pretty healthy.
Apparently feral cats are very common, at least around parks in TX from what I'm hearing.

This how we have five cats in our RV! People dump cats at our farm. They all have had serious health issues by the time they get to our porch. We’ve cared for 13 so far. Currently there are eight with us at the farm, these five here are the best behaved and socially graced(they don’t hiss or growl at strangers), the others become working cats - barn cats. We have insulated sleeping boxes in the barn and feeding machines set up so they can have some kibble and a neighbor checks up on them. So sad that people think cats are disposable.
I'm originally from the what fields of northwest Oklahoma. Growing grain means every farm will have a dozen or more barn cats to control the rodent population. Cats are the top level predator and are prized working animals. Plus there will be several hawks making lazy circles in the sky.
