Suburban SF25 Troubleshooting

Hi All,

I have a Suburban SF25 furnace in my 2004 Springdale Trailer.  When I try to start it the fan will blow for a while and then it all shuts off.  I figured it had something to do with the charge level of my batteries but then couldn't get it to ignite on shore power.  I opened up the cover and then took the faceplate off the furnace.  Of course, there wasn't much to see but I did test it and it fired right up with that faceplate off.  I thought it might have something to do with airflow so I vacuumed out everything I could reach inside and outside.  I put the faceplate back on and it still won't ignite.

Any thoughts?  It looks like the entire thing has to come out for me to do any additional repairs.

Thanks!

Mark

When it does NOT ignite do you  hear it trying to ignite?
If not I would suspect sail switch
Sequence of operation is
call for heat
Fan starts
If fan pushes sufficient air for furnace sail switch closes
This allows gas valve to open
Service manual is at

Try following this:

If that doesn't fix you up, post back what you find, and we can help you from there.

Sounds like the sail switch. If you can see it  could try to jump around it for test

Thanks for the help.  I read the referenced documents and they were helpful.  I looked at every vent and opening I could find and clean out and it is now working.  Well, it was working when I put it back at the storage yard.  If it quits again I guess I'll be taking it our and apart to see what I can see.
