I have a 2004 DP & today I "sprung" a leak!!
I understand Freightliner has made a change on this item (better I hope), that will last longer, they sure want a $$$$ for this thing!
Anybody run into this problem or is it I'm just "LUCKY"!!

I have replaced three FL surge tanks in the past 8 years. first was the original on the 2001 that was replaced with another made of composite material. That one failed six years later and the replacement this time was steel. When we got our 2006 it had the series 2 composite that had to be replaced with the steel series 3 last spring.

II just bought one for my 2003 38N bounder wit a Cummins engine and they didn't know about a steel one so I ended up with a plastic tank just like the original. I do plan on making it last longer by spraying it with UV blocking paint to protect it.
