Swapping new Bay Star for Dutch Star

Hi y"all

After only 4 months I'm done with my Bay Start gasser and am swapping it this weekend for a 2024 Dutch Star 4801
Any issues either this model that I should look out for and any advise transitioning from gas to diesel?
Yes I've taken my air brake course and upgraded my Lisence.

What is the hardest to get used to between gas and diesel?

Seriously, at some level they are the same. You push on the accelerator pedal & it goes, You push on the brake pedal and it stops. You don't need to know any more than that to drive it, despite what the diesel gurus will say. You probably should know enough more to arrange for proper maintenance, cause there is more to it than a gas-engine car or truck, but a reputable diesel truck/coach shop can advise on that kind of stuff.

What is the hardest to get used to between gas and diesel?

While it's not specifically because of gas to diesel, the DPs are more expensive coaches and have on board systems that often are not available in gassers, so I'd say the big differences are with the various systems on board.

When I switched from gas to diesel it took me a month spending a lot of time with the owner's manual (that old Beaver had a GREAT manual) to get comfortable with the systems. All too many coaches don't have such a fine manual, though - but my Newmar Ventana came with a slew of manuals for the various systems (the Beaver did too) so spend a lot of time with those.

You're going to love the difference with the DS. Comfort Drive is great. Watch the tachometer when starting because it's difficult to hear the engine.
Follow the steps on how Newmar wants you to deploy and retract the sides. Don't listen to owners of other brands since Newmar has unique steps to follow.
Don't deploy the full wall slide on un-level twisting sites. Need to check the bolts holding the electric slide motors on the passenger side annually. On mine, there's two motors on the living room slide and one can be reached under the bed.
It's very rare but the Girard Awnings have deployed on some owners when in transit! Easy fix is to add a switch unit to the outlet to be able to easily shut them off. There's a switch you can buy that plugs into an outlet. My awning plugs are located 2 bay doors up from the drive axle on the passenger slde.
Get a gallon of hydronic fluid to top off the Oasis heating unit. There's two colors of fluid (from the same company) and I've been told by one DS owner not to mix them..... Mines yellow-green and the other is red.
On my Freightliner Chassis.......
The chassis batteries can be serviced (at least mine can) and suggest checking every couple years. Need to take the tape off to be able to remove the "flat caps". The batteries are right above the heat generated from the emissions/DEF system and it gets very hot.
Per above read the manuals. One service that's needed is to change the oil in the radiator fan gearbox at 6 months.
