Is a wise decision to switch from regular motor  oil to synthetic oil in a Ford V10 when the engine has 15K miles?

What brand of S/O would you  recommend?

I have heard different thoughts on this.

Synthetic oils are wonderful!  You can't beat it in a high demand application such as a motorhome or towing a trailer. Amsoil and Mobile 1 are pure synthetics while the others are blends.

I highly recommend synthetic fluid in your transmission too. It's even more beneficial there than in your engine.  And in the rear axle as well.
