Table Rock vs. Beaver Lake

Both are about the same distance from me (4 hours). We are looking for a good destination for long weekends - something relatively close by. A lot of my friends / coworkers go to Table Rock. (Table Rock has an area that is nicknamed "Little Wichita").

We may eventually try both, but which one should be first?

Table Rock is southern Missouri.
Beaver is northern Arkansas.
There are no cool lakes in Kansas

I went to that area in April, stayed at COE campgrounds at each lake. It seemed to me (only having seen the specific CG's I stayed at) Table Rock is more "developed" and the landscape more "flat". Where the area around Beaver lake was more "rugged" and "forested". Both places were very nice, I would go back to either one in a heartbeat. Later in the trip we stayed at Lake Ouachita west of Hot Springs, also a very nice campground in a beautiful part of the state. We passed through Eureka Springs and Branson for a few days but personally I enjoyed my time at and around the lakes more.
