Someone once ask how to secure an old HD so nobody could hack it and get the data.
I gave them the US Military procedure

They got upset... thankfully others told them where I got the procedure..

Drills. Hammers. Hand gernades, Flame throwers Runm over it with a Tank or Bulldozer. and so on.

I think our procedure calls out to EMP them twice and then shred them. We actually throw laptops and such in a wheely bin and a contractor picks them up once a month.
