The only part of that story I buy into is this:

"Some observers speculated that Zhang’s protest had been orchestrated -- perhaps by a competitor or by the Chinese government itself to pressure Tesla to conform with Chinese regulations. Tesla alleged that Zhang hadn’t acted on her own."

I own a Tesla M3 and I rarely find a need for the brake pedal. But If the brakes really did not work, I would want to know why, and that article doesn't bother to say. There are laws for how the brakes in new cars must be designed in the USA, so I have a very difficult time buying Tesla is at fault here-even if selling the car in China, I doubt the brakes will be designed any differently than here in the USA.

The entire story is based on BS, IMAO.

A company should not allow lies about their product which can hurt business. It will not be a criminal charge, but civil. IOW, say anything you want against any company, as many times as you want, even after being sued a few dozen times, but you may have to pay for possible damages, but you will not go to jail over it. I have no problem with the way this stuff works, do you?

IOW, this is not about "free speech". It's about harmful lies about their product.

The description of Musk is 100% accurate. I'd retract the criminal behavior part and tell him "make my day" on the rest. That being as it may however doesn't warrant hooliganism.
What the pearl clutching pollyanna crowd fail to realize is informing a TV preacher he's the bottom rung on the human ladder isn't informative at all. He knows that, he knows that most people know that. What's important is his legal prey don't see it and as long as that's the case he's okay with being what he is.
For a treat, listen to Kara Swisher rip into Elon sometime. She knows him better than most anyone out there.

I suspect you are correct. and of course. IT's stupid.. Leaving the notes is a crime (not sure how serious) actually following through... Well I'd make sure my ride had a system like RV360 and park in a video survuailed spot whenever possible and let 'em damage it.

Then make them FIX FIX FIX it with the aid of a judge
And likely give them some time to reflect on the cost of HATE.

Maybe because he is a pretentious pr*ck who is not as smart as he thinks he is. Also he took over a couple of companies and then claimed to have started them. Particularly in the case of Tesla he forced the original engineer/inventors out and then has claimed the Tesla was his alone. Also, if he is concerned about the future of humanity, why not do something to improve the Earth instead of promoting colonizing a planet with high radiation and almost no atmosphere, where you can't even go outside without a spacesuit.

IQ-wise, Elon is one of the smartest people on earth. Expected IQ almost the same as Abert Einstein. Around 155.
