Members shared experiences of restaurants claiming credit card system failures, especially when ordering expensive menu items, and speculated whether this was a tactic to avoid credit card fees or a sign of deeper fraud. Some RVers believe these requests are often about saving the 3% transaction fee or possibly tax evasion, while others pointed out that genuine technical issues do occur, especially in areas with unreliable internet. Several noted that some establishments now legally add a...

Why aren't you paying for every single thing with a 2% cash back card? They have zero monthly or yearly fees so it costs you nothing to use them.
Because I have no bills. The only recurring charges that I have are a house payment and utilities. I use my card for that and then pay everything electronically when they send the electronic bill. Groceries I just pay at the store via card. I actually get excited if I see my snail mail box has stuff in it!!

I am not sure who you're asking because there is no quote in your message.

But I find the CCs that do NOT give cash back give me more than the cash back cards in other ways.

But I also have several cash back cards. I normally just let them accumulate as long as they do not expire. A few of them now owe me more than a hundred bucks each.

Needless to say, I have more CCs than I can count. None of them has a balance for more than a week or so. I do try to rotate through them all, as I have had credit cards canceled on me with no prior notice--for lack of use. I find out when I get around to using it. I try not to let that happen anymore.

And most of my bills are on autopay to a CC. All to a different CC to help keep them all active.

and utilities.
That is quite a few bills right there! But double for me with two houses. A few years ago, it was triple for utility bills. Then I had CCs with all three billing addresses. Now just two.

And then I have monthly fees for Verizon, Spot, and Inreach, and other such stuff.

But almost all of it is on an automatic payment to a CC, so it is no trouble to me. In some cases, an autopay to a checking account because they charge more to use a CC.

I think I wrote 2 checks this past year (so far). Can't remember what they are for. I almost never write a check.
I wrote 3. One for the RV repairs and 2 to a campground where the office is closed for the season, but you can still pay in a drop box. Not a fan of putting cash in a drop box as we have people that sometimes "fish" in the drop boxes at our campgrounds to try and remove cash.

I occasionally pop a check in the printer and fir up ye old checkwriter software.
But like the above .... Well I have one doctor that I can not "E-Pay" so I need to send him a check. Or drop in with $$$

The two checks that I write every year are for our school and property taxes. The school taxes can be paid by CC, but they add 3.5% to the bill, which I refuse to pay. The property taxes are cash or check only. It's easy enough to write a check for that though, since I have to go to the town clerk and tax collector's office anyway to pay for and pick up my annual landfill transfer station sticker.

The house payment and utilities are my only recurring bills also. But the utilities, groceries, pharmacy, Medicare and doctors, gasoline, gifts for 12 people, vehicle/house maintenance, license plates, local taxes. cell phone, restaurant twice a week, etc. adds up to about $25K of living expenses per year. Which nets around $500 per year on a 2% cash back card. I'm married so (at least) double that to $1,000. Isn't that a good reason to use a cash back card?

I say (at least) because whoever said 2 can live as cheaply as 1 was never married :)

If you’re after a chilled spot with good grub and live music, I’ve ended up using pub near me to find places, and that’s how I first wandered into Fenians.

The pet-friendly terrace is a sweet bonus, and their quiz nights are a fun midweek pick‑me‑up. It’s also been an easy go‑to for low‑stress event catchups since the venue hire is flexible.

Not sure a pun in Australia is relevant to people in the USA.
