Due to an upcoming medical condition, my DW (dear wife) mentioned about getting an add on heated bidet. The type that would sit under the toilet seat. Anyone have any preferences. Please give me some Pros and Cons and where to purchase it. Thanks

I've installed them in homes. The heated ones usually require a dedicated gfci circuit. You'll have to take that into account when installing it.

A bidet seat would be the easiest. The plumbing is pretty straightforward, and the electrical connection should be done with a GCI and somebody who knows what they are doing. I don’t have any heated bidets, but there are so many options when you add the electricity. You can even get air drying! Just look online at the popular brands, and you will be able to find one that suits her needs.

I installed a Brondell Bidet that fit under the toilet seat. We have these in the house on all our toilets and in the camper. It's identical to the Luxe. Click here.

After about 5 years, the turn knob is tight and squeeking. The wife wanted a new one in the camper. Only this time, she wanted a heated one. I told her if she could find one that would hook up to the electric easy, go ahead and get one. Well, she did. And yes, I hooked it up. It simply plugs into a normal wall plug. It was very easy to install, has heated water on demand and a fan for air drying. REALLY, REALLY nice.

However, I reminded the wife that when traveling, the Bidet will not work as the camper won't be hooked up to electricity and it won't spray either unless it has electricity. She said that was OK.

Like this one.

I just installed a Brondell Swash 1400 in the RV and 2 of them in my house. Heated water, heated seat and a blow dryer. Well, sort of a blow dryer, LOL. We do like them.

Several years ago we replaced our Casita trailer OEM low quality, tacky-looking, tacky-sounding, bacteria breeding, plastic Thetford toilet with a high quality ceramic Dometic 311 Low Profile Round Toilet and we added a 120VAC, residential, high quality Brondell Swash 1400 Round Toilet Bidet Seat which has a heated seat, blue night light and provides function rich control of endless toilet bidet seat warm water. Since it operates on a 120VAC 20A circuit that can be toggled from Shore Power to Inverter Power, it is always available. Photos and details of this Casita trailer modification and all our other many Casita trailer modifications may be found by Googling our below trailer name if interested.

They’re not cheap are they. I think i’ll look for something a little cheaper for our 1st bidet. Don’t know if we’ll even like it.

Once you get one, it’s impossible to go back. It a shower for ur bum. Kind of like going from a b/w tv to a color tv. Dry toilet paper just doesn’t do the job. Try a cheap one first w/o all the bells and whistles. We have a very basic model in the rv that just shoots water…no heated seat or heated water. Works great. Does the job. Just hook up water to it with no need for electricity.

My thoughts are if you don't buy a good one you will likely not like it and have a clue what you are missing out on.
We’re still thinking about it but if we do get one. It will be in the $500.00 range with all the bells and whistles. It will be from Amazon so we’ll be able to try it for 3 or 4 weeks. If we don’t like it , we’ll send it back.

Anyone know anything about a Bio Bidet BB2000? Good or bad.

Nah. We started with a cheap Brondell that sat underneath the seat. It took only the first try for us to be converted. We have bidets at home and in the motorhome, though we have moved up to using bidet seats instead of attachments. Still no heat, still no air dry, and still in love with them. If I have to use the bathroom somewhere other than my bidet setup, I go immediately upon returning home to get that really clean feeling.

Like this one.
Time to buy an inverter and won’t the spray still work off the onboard water pump?

I agree but I prefer my truck that has manual roll up windows. Less to go wrong. Not to get too graphic but it’s nice to cool things down there a bit without heated water…if you know what l mean.

Does the 1400 have a backup way to operate it lets say if the remote dies?

well we bit the bullet and ordered/ received our new bidet. We received it a couple of days ago. I installed it yesterday after I fixed the mess I found. The toilet was rocking really bad so I removed it. I found the top flange that holds the toilet down to the floor was completely rusted away. Luckily Home Depot has repair kits for this problem.
If it wasn’t for that, it would have taken maybe 1/2 hour to install the new bidet.
Both me and the wife have been using it and really like it. We got the Brondell Swash 1400
