The unsold Cybertrucks

Funny, they were the darlings in October.
IMO, Elon caused most of this problem, not so much the truck itself, but it too has some issues, much like any new design.

Best time to by any new design is a few years after it is first available. It takes that much time to fix the bugs. Most bugs are not discovered until thousands of them are on the road.

I purchased my 2013 Triumph Trophy SE ICE motorcycle first year. More recalls and TSBs than I can keep track of. Too many to list here. But Triumph did a great job of fixing every little bug at a great expense to them. They lost a ton of money on this bike and discontinued it in a few years--just after they fixed all the countless bugs.

While some of my EVs, both cars and motorcycles also had a few bugs, they were all SW related, and I was able to do the updates here at home. Except for one, concerning a seatbelt and battery recall on my 2022 Chevy Bolt.

However, they paid me $1,400.00 to get the battery SW fix recall done, to not get involved with the class action lawsuit to get the battery replaced.

Looks like another Tesla hit piece in the media, it sounds like Tesla may have contracted with the owner of a closed mall to store their Cyber Trucks in proximity to their new showroom. The article reads like they just parked the vehicles at a close up mall, and the city is has sent a You are not allowed to do that letter.

p.s. as to the popularity of the Cyber Truck, I see more of them on the road around here than any other Tesla model

Yeah, I could not make a lot of sense out of it either. I realized there had to be more to it than I was reading in that MSN article.

By far, I see mostly the Model Y here and in Auburn as well as anywhere in-between.

I have not seen that many Cybertrucks, but there are a few. They still stand out in this area as being a bit unusual.

Are you sure you notice the Model Y's? The Cybertruck nobody could miss if they tried.

It is true that the CyberTrucks do stand out, and that may be a factor, though having said that when I am out and about town here there is only one Model Y that I somewhat routinely see (it belongs to the owner of the local BBQ restaurant), and at least 3 Cyber Trucks that I may see on a nearly daily basis, one is owned by a local lawyer and has magnetic signs on the door advertising his practice, another is a plain silver CyberTruck owned by a local financial planner, and the 3rd has a black vinyl wrap on it. Overall around here it seems owning a CyberTruck is turning into a bit of a status symbol.

Here is a better photo of the unsold Cybertruck lot:

Conflicting information in the article,

Detroit and West Bloomfield are not just different cities. They are not even in the same county.

And they do not claim to be:

"The report notes Tesla recently opened a brand new showroom close to the Hunter’s Square shopping center in West Bloomfield,"

The article did not say that was the:

The "Mall Parking Lot".

And per the actual news report it's actually the Farmington Hill officials that are "fuming", not City of Detroit. The actual headline just says "The City" and makes no mention of Detroit per se.

Yes, how dare a land owner do something to make some revenue off their otherwise vacant property

This isn't even an EV thing. Every car builder has lots covered in their vehicles awaiting shipment, sales, etc.
So this one is not secured and someone took a video. So What...LOL

Exactly so what, one of our local small town car dealers stored their cars at the local fairground for a few days a while back while their lot was being repaved.

Go back to the root post read the title of the link.
The former Mayor of Farmington Hills was a friend of mine. Alas now deceased).

You think the complaints could really have more to do with Elon and Tesla than anything else?

What if it were Chevy trucks parked there instead? Would anybody even notice?

Are you forgetting this part? "Officials say the electric vehicles violate zoning codes and are warning the property owner."
