Yes if it was a LIQUID fuel
Solid fuel does not spread out like gasoline.

Hydrogen for fueling vehicles in CA. costs about $36.00 per kg. ( up from ~$13.00 just a few years back) The Toyota Mirai holds 5 kg. A fillup at a hydrogen fueling station is only $180.00.
The hydrogen fuel cells don't supply enough electrical.power for speeds to merge with highway traffic so they rely on a battery boost.
The technology has a ways to go.

It was highly flammable hydrogen gas.
