Technology exists to overtake, disrupt, or render inoperative any suspect flying object (it's a system my employer offers). The question of who or what these things are is secondary to why they're still being allowed to fly around. As a registered drone pilot I have to observe some pretty basic location and altitude rules, violation of which could be a citation, or arrestable offense. Why are these standards not being enforced here that would be surely applied to recreational flyers like me?

Like I said.. If They are being launched from a single point I suspect there's a bird watching and if the Government feels threatened spare drone parts will litter the ocean floor shortly after.

And the country (IF not a US outfit) launching them won't want to claim them either.

There are quotes from some sources hinting that these could be military or some govt agency. They dont come right out and say it but talk around it like it could be.

a lot of times when people claim the govt denied something and you see the actual quote they didnt actually deny it. They dance around the topic with hints one way and the other but dont actually make a statement either way. People interpret it and whisper it down the lane and it turns into a conspiracy theory.

There are a lot of situations where you cant say something but you have to say something. HR issues fall into that category a lot where you have to say something to acknowledge it but cannot provide any details. It is very easy for the person making the statement to not say exactly the right thing and it goes south. Sometimes conspiracies are some guy screwed up and it wasnt a govt plot lol

I think since they are being completely obvious, the logical conclusion is that they want to be seen.
I also know enough about radar and optics to be confident the government knows exactly where and who they come from.
My conclusion is they are trying to dissuade some nocturnal activity by making it clear there is surveillance and likely lethality loitering above.

I agree.. Not far from fort dix here in nj, they tracked a model rocket launch to its source and confronted the teen who launched it. The rocket was 2" in diameter and about 18" long.
