Toilet Splashes and Bubbles After Flushing

Hi all,

This is my first big trip with an RV.
We have had problems with my toilet leaking at the base. I engaged an RV company to replace the gasket.
Now the toilet is splashing up when we flush the toilet.
Tonight it started bubbling after I flushed it.
I open the black water valve twice a day.
I looked into the toilet as I flushed it and it looked full.
If there is a blockage, how do I clear it?

Thanks

Bob

Are you new to rv’ing and is this rv new to you?

You should never try to drain the black tank twice a day. You want to let it fill to at least 3/4 full then open the drain valve. Being that full, it will give you a big swish will lots of flow to move all the solids out of the tank.
I’m afraid now that your tank does not have any fluids to do this now and it probably has just solid crap in there and your drain valve may be plugged. You may get lucky and yry doing this. Using a garden hose down through the toilet, fill the tank all the way to full. If you can, let it set for a few days then try dumping it. You may get lucky and everything will flush out.

Are you sure that you are using the toilet properly? Do you run some water into the toilet bowl before using it, then rapidly open the valve to flush it into the tank?

Do you mean that you have the sewer hose connected and that you open the dump valve to empty it twice a day? Is this all with only one day of use? Are you sure that it was the black tank dump valve that you opened? How large is your black water tank? If there are only two people, it would be very unusual for it to get filled in only one day. On the other hand, the black tank is probably only 8" to 10" in depth, so it doesn't tank much to seem that it has a lot in it.

Is this a used RV and the first time that you have used it? You should have something similar to this picture.

The large valve to the right is for the black tank and the one to the left for the gray water tank.
