Iposted sometime back about installing a composting toilet. I figured we would give it a try. Well that experiment has ended. The whole concept I still endorse, I nver found it to be an issue, what I found was comfort. I bought probably too cheap a unit, it was very uncomfortable for both of us, so, out it came, reinstalled our original toilet we stored. Then we remembered what we did not like about it. So I ordered a new toilet, a high profile unit from Thetford. Pulled the original toilet again, and installed new. We are now happier. Being in a truck camper the bathroom is quite small, so there is a challenge for fitment, and the new toilet reminded me. It has the foot flush which ended up too close to a side wall, so I needed to twist the toilet about 10 degrees, everything then lined up fine.

See what I mean about small area? It was the little step to the sidewall that created the issue.

After unscrewing the flange from the floor, I realized the connection to the black tank was solid and immovable, so necessitated a trip to Ace to get a repair flange. Plumbing always multiple trips for parts.

I actually built the toilet in our fifth wheel up by making a platform out of 2/6s and stained them.

It looks factory (porcelain bowl) and the DW is much happier.
