We were thinking of buying a new car looking at an equinox. Is a Chevy equinox good to tow behind an RV all wheels down?

As good as any, I'd say. Just about all Equinox models (FWD & AWD) are 4-down towable and it's a roomy & comfortable vehicle. Curb weight roughly 4000 lbs so towable by most all motorhomes.
If you are thinking of buying one to tow, verify its "Recreational Towing" capability in its owner manual before you buy. Sometimes a certain model year or drivetrain configuration will have a restriction, so you want to be sure.
