Towing with a 5.3 ci and 3:08 gears.

1/2 ton chevy with 5.3 and 3:08 gears. Anyone towing with this combo?

Lots of people. The big issue is the really low towing capacity.

What do you want to tow? It is going to struggle with anything more than a pop up.

I am towing with a GMC 1/2 ton with a 5.3 but have 3.23 gear ratio. It has a 9100 lb towing capacity. If you have a crew cab you would be around 6100 lb towing capacity. Would have never guessed it would make that much difference but it does.

Actually its 6500 and only avail option is 3:42 which gives me 9500. What i asked was if anyone had experience towing with 3:08 gears.

Yea, a Tahoe trying to tow a 20 footTT. It worked hard to do it.

I have towed a utility trailer with that combination in the BC mountains, it wouldn't pass a fat kid on a bicycle and gas miledge was atrocious.
