Hey all I may be testing a new TPMS. That is capable of reading a max pressure of 115lbs.
I already have a system but wanting to get opinions here if 115lbs is Ok?
The reason why is this new system with 6 sensors and repeater will be under 100.00
Just concerned with the max pressure.

My tires are rated at 110 lbs.  I don't think 115 is any where near high enough.  As the tires warm up the pressure goes up a lot.  When a tire is failing it will get really hot and the pressure will rise till it blows.

good point!

115 is plenty if you are running tires at 60 or 80 psi (cold inflation). Maybe even 90-95.  But since you can expect a 100 psi (cold) tire to operate regularly in the 110-115 psi range, a TPMS that stops reporting at 115 is not a good choice for that sort of tire.

So what tire pressures are you running, and is 115 enough?

My steer tires need to be at 110 cold, and when running for hours down the highway on a warm day, the one on the sunny side has read over 130 psi, so that 115 limitation would be inadequate. I'd want at least 150, just in case. But, as Gary says, on a rig with normal cold set at 80 or less, it shouldn't be a problem. However note that I'm on my 3rd coach with the same TPMS and sensors (TST) so keep the future in mind, too.

Has anyone tried the Carchet TPMS?  You see many of them listed on EBAY, the price is good, but it seems like it is limited to 6 tires.  Is this system any adequate?  Could use a separate sytem for the TOAD... using a separate monitor, or would they interfere with each other?  (2-6 monitor systems cost less than most that can monitor more tires)
