Travel outside the US

We plan on traveling to the eastern section, am looking for opinions on how tge traveling would be given the present political climate.

It's been a few years since we visited the Maritimes, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back. With the exception of some unfortunate experiences in Quebec, we found the Canadian people to be welcoming and friendly. Seeing our California plates, some folks even approached us in parking lots to welcome us.

My regret was that, because it wasn't a planned part of our 10,000 miles maiden voyage, we weren't able to schedule sufficient time for that part of the trip.

I dont know that anyone really knows. Tensions are high and still ratcheting up. I probably wouldnt hesitate to do a trip to canada. When tensions are high there can be retaliation from people but from what i have seen so far canadians still seem to view americans as their friends and think the issue is the folks in washington rather than with american citizens.

Whenever we travelled in canada we found everyone to be super friendly and helpful. I cant imagine that has changed much even given the current situation.

Hard to say about the political climate in the coming months but best to key an eye on it.

How long do you plan on being in Canada? We entered via Maine, drove to Nova Scotia and returned via Sault Ste Maria. We were in Canada for at least 6 weeks and for us, it was no where near long enough. Too much to see and do in every major city.

We're considering traveling to Canada this summer, what are your thoughts ?
We still love and respect our American neighbours. There is just one (maybe two) that we have a problem with and they reside in DC. I would suggest you won't have a problem travelling here. There's always dickheads but they will be so regardless of the political climate. I say come and enjoy!

With the current political climate and just in general, there's probably more risk traveling in the US than traveling in Canada. We didn't have any issues traveling to and from Costa Rica this Spring. I would be more concerned about wildfire and smoke when traveling in Canada or the US during Summer these days.

I suspect this is right on target. But let us know.... Please Canadians, remember we did not ALL vote for that one. And We do not want to take over your country.

It seems to me that we are all affected by the political course of our leaders. I can only say that on a personal level, I thoroughly enjoyed dealing with the locals on every trip to canada, that I made, both business and pleasure. Don't let the extreme rhetoric on either side take the place of simple human kindness...
Safe travels and all the best (y)

Let's not go down the political road.
