Oh, and be sure to check conditions in Glenwood Canyon- terrain instability can close that section of I-70 when all else is good.

When I-70 in De Beque canyon is closed just east of Palisade the alternative route is Highway 65 over the Grand Mesa Summit of around 11,000 feet. It's a steep narrow road with tight corners and a grade warning sign of 10% in the De Beque cutoff. We have 53 foot tractor rigs going over it with heavy traffic at times. Be careful of your route even with detours.

I took the photo 10 miles from my home. No guardrails with a very long way (500 plus feet?) down cliff.
