We are leaving Knoxville Friday to go to Orlando for 7 days. Map shows 2 routes...one via I75 and one I26.  I75 I know well but I have not traveled I26, anyone have experience on it? Better/worse that 75? Pulling a 29ft Keystone Hornet with an F350.

What got me was mapquest and google maps both show that 26 is 80 miles further but the same travel time at 75 south.

I26 takes you about 40 miles east and then I4 will take you about 40 miles west so 80 miles seems about right. You would however miss Atlanta which might be good. You would also not have to pay Florida Turnpike fees.

I take I26 but I live on the Florida east coast

How is the mountains and the Green River Bridge area? I have heard it can get backed up with traffic.

I have never made the trip during this time of the year so I do not know what problems are involved. I would think the roads could be worse taking the I 40 and I 26 route through the national parks.

I live in Nashville and I go to Disney a couple times a  year.  I always go to Chatt. and take 75 and then the turnpike.  You must avoid Atlanta during rush hour.  Also take the Atlanta and Macon by-passes and get on the turnpike.  the toll is about 10 bucks but well worth it.  75 is a strange road....traffic stops for no apparent reason sometimes.
