A member with a 2015 Roadtrek Simplicity reported that the right side upper lights, porch light, and stove igniter were not working, despite fuses appearing intact. After confirming the LED lights functioned when connected to a powered wire, the member asked if anyone had experience tracing wires behind the headliner or knew common failure points. Another member clarified that the Dometic two-burner stove model does require a 12V connection, and suggested checking for a master switch or... More...

Hello, we recently purchased a 2015 road trek simplicity van and have discovered that the wiring for the right side upper lights, porch light is not working. I’ve tried to search function in this form but have not found anything on wiring. I have checked the fuse for that circuit, and it is intact and the lights still don’t work with a jumper across for the fuse I have switch lights from one side to the other and the. LED lights are functional when switched to a wire which has electricity. My question is whether anyone has taken down the headliner to chase wires and if there is a place where I should start looking for a cut wire , faulty connection, etc.. there also does not appear to be power to the stove igniter, and I’m wondering if this would be on the same circuit. Thank you for any help or suggestions. We are in the black hills of SD and a long way to any service center.

Stove igniters are usually piezo type, so no external power needed. I'm not familiar with Roadtreks, so could you identify the make.model of the stove?

Presumably those "upper side lights" are switched? All on one switch, or different switches? Again, not being a Roadtrek owner, I'm not sure what lights you refer to so can't make useful suggestions without more info.

I Googled 'Roadtrek wiring diagram" and found a lot of sources. Have you explored them to help solve your mystery?

Thank you the stove is Dometic two burner ? Model. There is a small rocker switch which the instructions say push and hold until flame is lit, so I suppose it is similar to the igniter on my house gas range rather than the snap igniter on my barbecue.
The lights are small puck style led adjustable lights that are pushed in to turn on and off so they appear to be wired in parallel

Just a shot in the dark, but on a previous coach I had some interior lights that were on a switched circuit but could be individually turned off as well. If the main circuit switch (located on the dash board) was off, pressing the individual light switch had no effect. If you have a switch somewhere you don't know its purpose, maybe that set of lights?

I removed a puck light in the back and used the quick connect plug to connect a 12 v battery to the circuit. This restored function to all the inoperable lights as well as the stove igniter. I think the most likely place for a fault is the quick connect plug from the main fuse panel to the wiring loom. Access to that is somewhat difficult as it is in the pizza oven above the drivers seat and in front of the bathroom wall next to the pillar. Looking into how to remove the head liner to either fix the problem or run a new jumper to that circuit as there are two puck lights in the head liner that are on that circuit .
