My parents have a truck camper and are having issues with the fridge and hot water heater lighting on propane. If the truck camper is plugged in to electricity it has no problem lighting the propane on both the frigid and hot water heater. Once unplugged from electricity it seems there is no or not enough spark to light the fridge and hot water heater. Any suggestions??

A weak battery would explain that. Both the water heater and fridge require adequate 12v power to function. When plugged to shore power, the converter/charger guarantees it. Without shore power, you rely on the battery.

Check the voltage at the 12v input to the fridge. Could something be causing a drop, e.g. corrosion? When the converter is supplying power, it puts out 13.3-13.6v so has some extra cushion. The battery starts at 12.6v and goes down from there.
