Ive used this on my boat. cut it to length and attach to a 12v source just be sure to buy the external one.  lots of
light and hardly any juice used

I added LED multi-color under awning lights last year to the top of my curb side slide. I put the string in a aluminum channel covered with a opaque plastic to dispersed the light. I had to leave enough 12 volt supply wire on top of the slide to accommodate the distance the slide protrudes out from the awning when the slide extends.
I used an RF remote.
I believe I used boggeylights.
