Hi RV folks,
Hoping for some help with the subject issue. My late husband had bought the old RV as a fixer-upper project but wasn?t able to complete it before he passed away. I have someone who is willing to take as a donation, but I?m unable to transfer title here in Pennsylvania without an ?unladen weight.?
Apparently due to the age of the vehicle, the unladen weight field on the title is blank. I don?t have an owners manual and there?s no unladen weight on the door. It doesn?t start/run so I can?t have it weighed without towing it. Meanwhile I need to remove it from the property because the house is sold!
Can any of you smart folks give me a suggestion for finding this piece of data?
Thanks very much,
Karen

According to the 1978 Itasca brochure, the GVWR of that rig was either 11,000 lbs or 12,500 lbs (25 footer with 350 GM engine) or 14,500 for the 27 footer with 454 engine.    I'd take a guess and estimate that the UVW was 2000 lbs less than the GVWR. I don't think it is important that the UVW be accurate to the lb!

You can view the brochure at the Winnebago Product Info site https://winnebagoind.com/resources/brochure/1978/78-Itasca-bro.pdf

Welcome to the Forum!

I applaud your desire to donate.  Hope Gary's comments make it possible.  Whoever picks it up may be able to get it weighed on their way to the charity??

If that does not work out, then most junk yards will buy it and haul it off.  They need a title, but never transfer it, just hold it.  Then donate the cash.
