Using dual SIM and eSIM on a Galaxy S25

My Galaxy S25 has dual SIM capability but to this point never paid much attention. Could I, for example, get a new Visible account and activate that on this phone in addition to the Verizon SIM already in use using this eSIM feature? It appears I can just go into settings and activate either SIM.

But having both active at the same time?

Dual Standby: Your S25 supports Dual SIM, Dual Standby (DSDS). This means you can have a personal line
and a business line active at the same time and receive calls/texts for both.​

How exactly does that work? If I get a call or text, does it somehow indicate the origin of the call?

I have the same phone and have dual sims. No e-sim.

I have an icon for each sim. Just tried a call from Steve's UK phone to my UK sim. See photo... the little house is icon for UK sim. US one has luggage as icon.

Go into the settings. Connections then sim manager. Several settings in there including the icons and which sim to use for calls, texts and mobile data. You can switch them off and on from there too.

Thanks for the input, Jackie! For the sake of example, let's say I had SIM1 and SIM2 each with its respective carrier. I have to decide which one to be active at any given time, or can they both be active at the same time?

I've got both my UK and US numbers active.

For making calls you can select a specific sim OR select "ask each time".

For texts and mobile data you need to pick a specific sim for the outgoing text and data usage.

You'll still receive all texts.
