Members responded to a question about using Love's truck wash for a 40-foot diesel pusher at about $45 per wash. Direct experience with Love's was limited, and some members were concerned about possible scratching or an incomplete clean, while one member noted the brushes are also used on custom-painted truck cabs. Several members instead compared it to Blue Beacon, which many said had given them good results at a similar price, though a few reported streaking or residue in some locations...

I've thought about taking my fiver but decided against it. I just got to thinking that they can get big stuff off, but wouldn't have real soft scrubbers and I didn't want scratches.

Will be interesting on what others say--especially those that have experience using them.

They use those brushes on custom painted truck cabs and customers would be pretty upset if they left scratches.

I read a post in the last few days where a guy used one on his motorhome, and it didn’t get clean. He said he could still write his name on the grime! He manager who was there said, “Well, that’s what it does,” with a shrug (paraphrased because I am too lazy to find the post). I’ll just stay with Blue Beacon who has always given me a great wash for a very reasonable price.

What you have to be careful of is the ACID that is used on trucks,, if you ask them about that they will tell you that they won't use it on your rig,, BUT,,all local law requires them to RECYCLE all their water,, that means you will get it like it or not.. The other thing I found is bad steaking after it drys,, its worse than no wash at all..>>>Dan

Dan, it's hard to tell if you mean acid at Love's or at Blue Beacon (or both), but my experience with Blue Beacon never gave me those results- it always looked good.

Larry,, Streakin Beakin as it is widely known,, it took me twice to learn my lesson, never again.. after three months of work after to remove all streaks..>>>Dan

Sounds like some have better results than I expected. Good to know in an emergency situation. But I’ll avoid to be safe.

I wondered about that. But figured the drivers with really nice trucks do it themselves.

Since it never happened that way to me, I have to conclude that, at least the Blue Beacon in Commerce City, CO, is not in that category- or at least it wasn't on the days I went, not exactly weekly or monthly though.

I think the acid/streaks problem is an Arizona thing. I use Blue Beacon but never again in AZ. I still have streaks on the side trim of my front slide out. Tried a couple times to buff it out.

I've not been in a Love's truck wash, but I took my DP to Blue Beacon several times for under $50, and they had people with long handled brushes, besides the spray for undercarriage and, if you wish, a sprayer for the top of the coach, too.
They also have a very good brightener they put on the aluminum wheels, mine shine so well I get compliments and asked how I got them so shiny - "blue beacon" lol

I have never had that happen either, and I have used Blue Beacons in numerous locations. The owner operators wouldn’t allow that with their trucks either - they always look cleaner than my MH even before they wash! And while a Blue Beacon definitely isn’t a detail, they do a good wash in 10 minutes or so with the 4-6 folks they have working on it.

I have used basically 3 services. Beacon did a good job.
A "Come to your site" RV washer in Vegas did as well though they left something behind (I handed it to the park folks to return to them).. and one "No brand" truck wash somewhere on I-10

After that I it D I Y. All three used brushes and basically hand washed. Same as I did. No streaks.

The optional wax was different however. they used hot wax I used either Turtle Wax ICE (A spray foam) or paste and a whole lot of elbow grease.

I can tell you a good wax job before an 800mile + "hike" pays for itself in MPG.

Just browsing and seen "John from Detroit's" name. Wow still "in the game" so to speak........
Keep on trucking.
I'm still kicking and just get a good feeling when I realize others are still around!

Welcome back. Don’t be a stranger

I use Blue Beacon on my 2021 Montana with no issues. No acid, no brush's is the ticket! The water in AZ is so hard you have to cut it off after closing the faucet!;);) Even the people that live there wont drink it.

For most of Arizona, a water softener and a drinking water filter move from the “nice to have” to “really important.” We drink from our tanks, but the (in sequence) filter, softener, then refrigerator dispenser filter makes the water much more palatable. Besides, without a softener, my shampoo bill would double! That hard water requires a lot more for suds LOL!
