Haven't moved the coach in 2 months until today. Found out the water pump no longer works.
I found the fuse and it tested good.
I have not tested voltage at the pump yet. I will in the morning.
Any other ideas?
Thanks, Jeff

Dead Rene. It's like it's got no power. There are 3 on/off switches in different locations. They all will turn the pump on or off.
None of them will respond.

Time to put the meter to work. Do you have easy access to the area where the pump is? You could always try connecting a 12 volt battery directly to the pump thereby eliminating the pump. Or remove the pump and connect it to a battery.

I know barely enough to be dangerous here.  Since it can be turned on at 3 separate locations, I believe a pump controller is needed to make this happen.  It knows when a switch is on, then powers the pump.  It may be the issue??  On my rig,  I only have one switch and no need for the controller.

Thanks Preacher. I have no idea where that might be. I'll do more digging tomorrow and will report back.
Thanks everyone for playing along! :))

As Preacher says, a multi-switch system uses a pump controller. The pump has 12v power at all times and the controller switches the ground side to turn pump on/off. Follow the ground side wire from the pump to find the controller.

Jeff, the Newmar techs are very helpful. Mine did not have a controller but I think preacher's on to something in your case. Newmar can tell you where it is

Jeff,

Here is a simple way to diagnose the problem.

Get a cheap 12 volt tester, (just a ground wire with a clip connected to a probe with a 12 volt bulb in it,about $5.

Connect the ground wire to a good metal ground.

Touch the tip of the probe to the small metal square at the top of the plug in fuse.  If it light up you have 12 volts to the fuse,

Touch the other small square in the top of the fuse at the other end.  If it lights up the fuse is good and you have 12 volts to the pump.

Now the problem is either the pump or the controller circuit.  Ground the black. (ground) wire and if the problem is in the ground/controller circuit the pump should start running.

At least you will know where the problem is.

Good luck and those cheap 12 volt testers really can check many things on your RV.

If one of your 3 momentary switches is stuck in the closed position, it sends a constant ground to the Intellitec pump controller. The other 2 switches will have no effect on the controller.
Unplug one switch at a time and see if one of the other 2 switches will turn on the controller. Continue that process for the other 2 switches. It is not uncommon for those momentary switches to stick in the closed position.

Give the Winnebago hotline a call, they should be able to help  ;) ;D ;D

You think the Winnebago Hotline got up to speed on Newmar products already?  Or that they would ever say anything other than "Call the Newmar Hotline"?

To contact Newmar Customer Support, call toll-free 1-800-731-8300.
