The first EV with the Solid State Battery in the USA probably could be the Verge Motorcycle.

As I have said before, always ignore range claims on EVs and use the simple DonTom method:

7 miles per useable KWH on motorcycles.

3.5 miles per KWH in cars.

Then on average motorcycle or average car with average normal driving, 50% of the time your range will be better and 50% of the time it will be worse.

The Verge can have up to a 33.3 KWH Solid State Battery. 30 KWH usable, IIRC. Perhaps the largest ever on a motorcycle. That means real world range of an average of (without the BS factor) of 210 miles expected as average, with mostly on the freeway. But double that if all off the freeway at an average of around 35 MPH then expect around 420 miles of real-world range.

Add or subtract to these for the conditions, as this is for average everything, and real-world with no BS factors.

The Verge is a weird motorcycle. See the rear wheel drive. No spokes or anything, The rear hub is the motor.

I just found out that my electric riding buddy in Stockton has a Verge on order. With the larger battery and all. Probably will cost him 40K$ or so.

I have no interest in owning one unless they make a touring model as I am usually carrying a lot of stuff, such as my ride between by two houses.

I hear it handles rather poorly for a modern bike. But that makes no difference to me as I ride motorcycles like a little old lady anyway.

From the thread located here.

Wow! That bike is neat!
A buddy of mine, Dave, in Stockton, CA has it on order. It is supposed to be the very first vehicle to have a new Solid State Battery! Verge Motorcycles and Donut Labs are somehow very closely connected.

He has the TS Ultra model ordered, will cost him more than 45K$. Dave has the most expensive model on order. Hard to say when it will be delivered.

"The Verge TS Pro electric motorcycle is the first production vehicle to be equipped with an all-solid-state battery, having entered production in early 2026 with batteries supplied by Donut Lab.

Among major automakers, Toyota is positioned to launch the first mass-market all-solid-state battery EV, with a target of 2027–2028. Other notable upcoming releases include:

  • Nissan: First solid-state EV on track for 2028.
  • Volkswagen Group: Demonstrated a solid-state powered Ducati V21L motorcycle in 2025, with commercial automotive cells targeted before the end of the decade.
  • Chery/Exeed: Plans to launch the Liefeng shooting brake with a solid-state battery in 2027.
While the IM L6 sedan claimed in 2024 to be the first production car with a solid-state battery, industry consensus and subsequent developments indicate that the Verge TS Pro holds the title of the first verified production vehicle with this technology to date."
