I did get notified that I was connected to Mexico cell towers when I was near the Mexican border.
My Verizon cell tells me when I am using a non-Verizon voice system. I don't recall the exact message as it has been a while since I have seen it. I rarely use my cell phone. I perhaps make five calls per year on it at the very most. I did use it one time on my last two month RV trip to call Twin Buttes RV in Douglass. .

When texting it lets me know with the RCS texting where it can even use systems that Verizon does NOT rent. When it is in range of Verizon, "RCS" does not show.

My Verizon Hotspot also shows when a when a rented system is used, IIRC.
