The "Vessel Documentation Portal" is at it again. They send you a letter pretending to be from the US Coast Guard Documentation Center, telling you that your USCG Certificate of Documentation is about to expire, and giving you a URL to renew (at an inflated price). This is an outright scam, and owners of "Documented vessels" should ignore it.
The first clue is evident before you open the envelope - the return address is in Middletown, DE and the USPS post mark is Santa Ana, CA. The real USCG National Documentation Center is in Falling Waters, West Virginia.
BTW their renewal date is also off by months.
