I cannot believe I have been playing the piano since the 60s and I have never heard of Hanon until today. He was a French dude named Charles-Louis Hanon who wrote a book in 1873 called 'The Virtuoso Pianist' that is just what I have been looking for. It contains 60 exercises to strengthen your fingers. I have never been a very good pianist (in fact downright lousy) but I really love playing piano and it has been frustrating not having very good technique. I have played a lot of scales but never gotten very good at technique. These exercises look to be a lot better than playing scales.

No need to buy the book since all the exercises are online in both sheet music form and videos.
